How Instagram Reels Can Help Boost Your Business

Date

Since the Instagram reel feature launch in 2020, it has been a rich source of advertisement and promotion for growing businesses. The quick and fun videos uniquely attract users, leading to a great amount of activity toward your brand.

Instagram reels are 15 to 90-second video clips that users can edit with a variety of tools. These include audio, graphics, texts, images, and more. Additionally, reels can be filmed and created on and off the app. The result is a creative and engaging video that viewers can share, like, and comment on.

But why should you use Instagram reels?

Using Instagram reels can be a great way to promote your business and bring your brand to the right people. Reels follow a specific content algorithm for each user, where reels are prioritized on the platform.  And, with over 2.35 billion active users, your content will be greatly exposed and guaranteed to match with the perfect audience.

Additionally, it’s statistically shown that reels have a higher view rate compared to regular Instagram posts. Reels have an average view rate of 2.53% which is a .8% difference from regular video posts.

Although Instagram reels boost follow growth and consumer engagement, it won’t happen automatically. Here are some tips and ideas to take into consideration when using reels.

Show yourself in action.

  • An effective way of attracting customers is to show them what you’re offering and how it can be useful; reels are perfect. People listen to hundreds of boring ads per day explaining how “perfect this product is” and how “you need it now.” By actively showing the viewer your service, not only it educate but also keeps them intrigued and focused.

Be personal.

  • People adore the hard-working person behind the brand. Build trust between you and the viewer by discussing your inspiration for starting your business or telling them things about yourself. Being open allows the customer to be more comfortable working with you. Another way you can approach this is by creating “Meet the team” reels by introducing you and your team members.

Have fun with trends.

  • When scrolling through reels, you may notice that multiple creators have used the same hashtag, audio, or filter that has been circulating around. Following certain trends like this will help gain popularity for your reels and cause more engagement. This is partially because of the Instagram algorithm. When Instagram notices that its users enjoy a certain trend, they will make content related to those trends more available to them. Plus, who doesn’t enjoy a fun and catchy song?

Be consistent.

  • Posting reels consistently is one of the best ways to stay relevant and improve your performance across the platform. Instagram prioritizes new content over out-of-date ones. Plus, the more you post, the more people your content will reach, which is always a great goal to have for your brand.

Don’t give up!

  • It’s very easy to be discouraged when your reels don’t initially skyrocket. Social media marketing is the best way to connect with consumers and gain a following, but it does not happen overnight. Getting out there, understanding the algorithm, and creating quality content can be lengthy. However, creating new content, including Instagram reels, is an exciting journey. Enjoy the journey and focus on your end goal!
